Privacy and data protection

How this holiday-home website uses personal data under the EU GDPR. We keep this notice general on purpose.

1. Who is responsible

The controller of personal data on this website is the host who offers the holiday home advertised here (“we”). We are established in the European Union.

For privacy requests, use the contact form on this website. Do not send payment-card numbers by email or form.

2. What we collect

If you enquire or book, we process the details you give us: name, email, phone, stay dates, number of guests, optional notes (for example a dog), and payment status. Card payments are handled by the payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.

The site may keep a copy of your request in this browser (local storage) so you can see it again on this device. The public calendar shows busy dates only, not guest names.

3. Why we use it

To handle your enquiry and rental (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), to keep legally required records such as invoices and tourist tax where applicable (Art. 6(1)(c)), and to run the calendar, avoid double bookings, and secure the site (Art. 6(1)(f)). We do not build advertising profiles.

4. Who we share it with

Service providers that host this website, store booking records, and (if you pay by card) process payments. A map or font provider may receive your IP address if your browser loads those resources. Other booking channels may receive busy dates only, not your name or contact details.

We do not sell personal data.

5. How long we keep it

For the stay and then as long as tax or legal rules require. Unused enquiries are removed or anonymised when we no longer need them. You can delete this browser’s local copy yourself in your browser settings.

6. Transfers outside the EEA

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they use an EU-approved mechanism such as the Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Your rights

You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, or portability, and you may withdraw consent where we relied on it. Some records (for example invoices) must be kept. You may complain to the data-protection authority in your EU/EEA country.

8. Cookies and similar storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Strictly necessary storage only: technical operation of the site, and local storage of a stay request you make on this device. The payment provider may set cookies on its own domain when you pay.

9. Children

This site is for adults booking a stay. We do not knowingly take bookings from children as the contracting guest.

10. Changes

We may update this notice if the site or the law changes. The text on this page is the current version.
